The WiiM Ultra is a compact device designed to combine digital and analog sources in an elegant aluminum case with a 3.5'' vibrant touchscreen, streaming high-quality audio from various sources to your audio system. Here's how you can set it up.
What You'll Need
- A WiiM Ultra device
- An external audio system, such as active speakers, a subwoofer, a DAC, an amplifier, or headphones, depending on your specific setup and preferences.
For example, if you want to stream music from the WiiM Ultra to your passive speakers, you will need an amplifier to power them. - A smartphone or tablet
- Wi-Fi connection
- (Optional) Ethernet connection
- (Optional) Other audio input devices you want to connect to the WiiM Ultra
Step-by-Step Setup Guide
1. Unboxing the WiiM Ultra
Open the box, and you'll find the following items inside.
2. Connect the WiiM Ultra's Audio Output
The WiiM Ultra features six dedicated audio output ports, allowing you to output audio to various external devices. You can use any of these ports depending on your setup and preference.
Line Out
The Line Out port is typically used to connect to the external audio equipment, e.g., powered speakers, amplifiers, or AV receivers to output high-quality analog audio playback.
Optical Out
The Optical Out port is typically used to connect to the external device, e.g., soundbars, DACs, or AV receivers, to output digital audio playback.
COAX Out
The COAX Out port is typically used to connect to the external device, e.g., DACs, AV receivers, or amplifiers supporting coaxial input.
USB Out
The USB Out port is typically used to connect to the external device, e.g., DACs or amplifiers that support USB audio input. For more details, refer to Using USB Output on WiiM Amp, WiiM Amp Pro, and WiiM Ultra.
Sub Out
The Sub Out port connects to a powered subwoofer for enhanced bass. For detailed instructions, see How to Connect Your Subwoofer with the WiiM Ultra.
Headphone Out

3. Connect the WiiM Ultra's Audio Input (Optional)
The WiiM Ultra features four distinct audio input ports: Line In, Optical In, HDMI ARC, and Phono In. These allow you to connect external audio sources (e.g., CD players, TVs, PCs, or turntables) for high-quality playback. For detailed instructions, see How To Use Audio Input Ports of the WiiM Ultra.
If you want to stream music to your WiiM Ultra via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, this step is not required.
4. Power on the Devices
- Connect the WiiM Ultra to a power source using the provided power cable.
- If you connect a subwoofer and an audio input device to the WiiM Ultra, connect them to a power source and power them on.
5. Download the WiiM Home App
Use your smartphone or table to scan the following QR code to download the WiiM Home app. The app will be used to set up and control your WiiM Ultra.
6. Set Up the WiiM Ultra through the WiiM Home App
- Open the WiiM Home app on your smartphone or tablet.
- When your device appear in the app, tap Set Up to start the process.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.

7. Play Music
Now, stream music to the WiiM Ultra from the WiiM Home app or your favorite services — Spotify, Amazon Music, TIDAL, Deezer, Qobuz, and more. Or simply play from a connected audio input device. Enjoy your music with breathtaking clarity, depth, and power.
Tips
- Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure your Wi-Fi signal is strong in the location where you set up the WiiM Ultra for a stable streaming experience.
