This tutorial will guide you through the proccess of setting up your WiiM voice remote with your WiiM Device.
The WiiM Voice Remote is compatible with the following WiiM devices:
- WiiM Mini
- WiiM Pro
- WiiM Pro Plus
- WiiM Amp
- WiiM Amp Pro
- WiiM Ultra
Steps to Set Up Your WiiM Voice Remote
Step 1: Insert Two AAA Batteries into Your WiiM Voice Remote
- Remove the back cover of your WiiM Voice Remote.
- Insert two AAA batteries.
WiiM Voice Remote package doesn't include two AAA batteries. You will need to provide your own.
Step 2: Pair Your WiiM Voice Remote with WiiM Device via WiiM Home App
- Put the remote into the pairing mode by pressing and holding the Source and Mute buttons for two or more seconds simultaneously.
The remote doesn't have an LED indicator. The opening above the MIC button serves as a microphone port, not as an LED feature.
- Release the Source and Mute buttons.
- Open the WiiM Home App on your smartphone or tablet.
- Navigate to the Device tab.
- Tap the device setting gear icon, scroll down and select Remote.
- If the remote is in pairing mode, you should see the following card. If the WiiM Home App can't detect the remote, remove and reinsert the batteries to reset the remote.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the pairing process.
Step 3: Use Your WiiM Voice Remote to Control Your WiiM Device
- After pairing, try the following playback controls on your remote:
- Play/pause
- Mute
- Volume up, down
- Next track, previous track
- Switch input sources (e.g. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, TV, Line In, or Optical In) depending on the capabilities of your WiiM device.
- Press the 1~4 buttons to play the corresponding presets. By default, these buttons correspond to the presets 1 to 4 on the WiiM Home App.
- Try the "Push-to-talk" Alexa:
- Press and hold the Mic button to give Alexa commands. For example, you can try any of the following Alexa commands:
- "Play daily lift from Spotify"
- "Play my soundtrack from Amazon Music"
- "Volume 5"
- "My daily brief"
- "Play ESPN radio"
- "Play Pandora"
- Once you’ve finished giving your command, release the MIC button, and Alexa will process your command.
- Press and hold the Mic button to give Alexa commands. For example, you can try any of the following Alexa commands:
To use the voice button on the remote, please first login the Alexa voice service for your paired WiiM device on the WiiM Home App.
