If you're experiencing no sound while playing audio through your WiiM device, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.

1. Check the External Device is Powered On

Ensure that the external device (e.g., an AVR, DAC, or speaker) connected to your WiiM device is powered on.

2. Check the Power Input of Your WiiM Device

Ensure your WiiM device is properly connected to the power source using the required power adapter and cable. Insufficient power can lead to no sound issues when using analog output.

3. Check the Volume

Ensure that the volume is turned up in both the WiiM Home app and on the external device (e.g., an AVR, DAC, or speaker) connected to your WiiM device.

4. Check the Physical Connections

Check that the physical connections between your WiiM device and the external device (e.g., an AVR, DAC, or speaker) are correctly and securely plugged in.

If you're using the Optical Out port on your WiiM device, check for a red laser light when music is playing.Don't look directly into the port!

If no light is visible during playback, it may indicate a malfunction. In that case, please contact us or your seller for further assistance.

If you're using the Coax Out port, make sure to use the Coax cable with 75-ohm impedance. If you don't have one, you can use the provided RCA cable as a substitue.

5. Check Network Connection of Your WiiM Device

Ensure that your WiiM device is connected to your Wi-Fi network. If it loses connection, it may not be able to stream audio.

You can check the connection status in the WiiM Home app:

  1. Open the WiiM Home app.

  2. Go to the Devices tab and tap the Device Settings iconof your WiiM device.

  3. Select Network Status to check the connection status.

6. Check Active Input in the WiiM Home App

  1. Open the WiiM Home app.

  2. Go to the Browse tab and scroll down to the Source Input section.

  3. Check the active audio input port. Ensure that it is the correct input port.

Verify that the input selection on the external device (e.g., an AVR, DAC, or speaker) connected to your WiiM device. Make sure the correct input source is selected on the external device.

9. Downgrade Audio Resolution for Optical Out or Coax Out

If you are using the Optical Out or Coax Out port, try to change the maximum audio resolution. This can resolve sample rate compatibility issues.

  1. Open the WiiM Home app.

  2. Go to the Devices tab and tap the Device Settings iconof your WiiM device.

  3. Select Audio Settings, and then select SPDIF Output Resolution or Coax Output Resolution, depending on the output you are using.

  4. Downgrade the maximum output resolution from, for example, 192 kHZ/24-bit to 96 kHZ/16-bit and then tap Play test audio to check the sound.

To ensure compatibility, check the maximum input sample rate supported by the external device (e.g., DAC or amplifier) connected to your WiiM device.

10. Increase Line Out Level

If you are using Line Out port, try to increase the Line Out Level setting in the WiiM Home app.

  1. Open the WiiM Home app.

You can use the provided RCA cable as a substitue to connect to the Coax Out interface on the WiiM device.

13. Reset Your WiiM Device

Press and hold the Play button for 10 seconds until you hear the voice prompt “Restore to factory settings” and see the LED indicator flashing red and white. After the reset, set up your WiiM device again and try playing music.
