Overview

WiiM devices support Squeezelite, allowing you to use Lyrion Media Server (LMS) for synchronized multi-room playback.

With LMS group playback, you can synchronize playback between two compatible WiiM devices. Playback is controlled through LMS-compatible controller apps.

Note: LMS group playback supports a maximum of two compatible WiiM devices.

Compatible WiiM Devices

All WiiM devices are compatible with Squeezelite, except WiiM Mini, WiiM Sub Pro, and WiiM Vibelink Amp.

Set Up LMS Group Playback

Before You Begin

  • Ensure that Lyrion Media Server (LMS) is installed and running.
  • Ensure that your WiiM devices and LMS server are connected to the same network.

1. Enable and Configure Squeezelite on Each WiiM Device

This setup ensures that the WiiM device will appear as a player in LMS.

  1. Open the WiiM Home app.
  2. Go to the Devices tab > Device Settings Device Settings icon > Squeezelite.
  3. Enable Squeezelite. The device will automatically search for available LMS servers on the network.
  4. Select your LMS server from the list.
Tip: If your LMS server does not appear in the list, tap Connect by IP Address to manually add the LMS server.

You can modify the LMS playback group at any time from the Synchronize option:

  • Select another WiiM device to update the group.
  • Select No synchronization to remove devices from the group.

Troubleshooting: WiiM Device Does Not Appear in LMS

If your WiiM device does not appear in LMS, try the following:

  1. Confirm that the WiiM device and LMS server are connected to the same network.
  2. Check that Squeezeliteis enabled and the correct LMS server is selected in the WiiM Home app.
Tip: If your LMS server does not appear in the list, tap Connect by IP Address to manually add the LMS server.
  3. Restart the LMS server.
  4. If you are running LMS on a Mac, open the Mac's Network Settings and check whether Limit IP address tracking is enabled. If it is, turn it off and restart LMS.
  5. Check your router settings and make sure device discovery is allowed.

Important Notes

  • LMS grouping is managed by Lyrion Media Server, not the WiiM Home app.
  • Do not use WiiM multi-room grouping together with LMS group playback.
  • LMS synchronization requires a stable network connection between your WiiM devices and LMS server.
