Bit-perfect playback ensures that the audio signal is transmitted from the source to your output device without any modifications, maintaining the original quality of the sound. This article will guide you on how to configure your WiiM device for bit-perfect playback.

Bit-Perfect Playback Overview

Bit-perfect playback delivers audio exactly as it was recorded, preserving its original quality. It avoids resampling, digital volume adjustment, and DSP effects (e.g. EQ), ensuring the audio bypasses system mixers and remains unaltered.

This is essential for high-resolution formats like FLAC or WAV and offers benefits such as:

  • Highest Audio Fidelity: Experience music exactly as it was recorded, with every detail intact.

  • Critical Listening: Ideal for audiophiles and professionals requiring accurate sound reproduction.

  • Optimized for High-Resolution Audio: Formats like 24-bit/192 kHz PCM and DSD demand pristine data paths to realize their full potential.

By ensuring a pure and unaltered audio signal, bit-perfect playback unlocks the true capabilities of high-resolution audio formats and enhances your listening experience.
