This tutorial will guide you on positioning two speakers for an optimal stereo pair. Proper placement is essential for achieving the best sound quality from your stereo pair.

The above diagram illustrates an example of ideal speaker placement in a typical listening environment, based on the speaker placement guidelines provided below.

Speaker Placement Guidelines

1. Create an Equilateral Triangle

Arrange the two speakers and your listening position so that they form an equilateral triangle. The distance between the speakers should be equal to the distance from each speaker to your listening spot, usually 6 to 10 feet (1.8 to 3 meters).

2. Speaker Height

Place speakers at ear level when you're sitting in your listening spot. This ensures that the high frequencies reach you at the right angle.

3. Speaker Angle

Angle the speakers slightly inward, so they face toward your listening position. This can help improve stereo imaging and sound focus.

4. Distance from Walls

Keep the speakers at least a few inches away from the walls and avoid placing them directly in corners to reduce distortion and enhance sound clarity.

5. Symmetrical Speaker Placement

Ensure both speakers are positioned symmetrically in the room for balanced sound.
