Method 2: Retrieve Wi-Fi Password from Router's Admin Page

Most routers have a web-based admin page, so you can use a web browser to access it to retrieve the Wi-Fi password.

  1. Connect to the Wi-Fi network.

  2. Open a web browser and enter the router's IP address (commonly "192.168.1.1", "192.168.0.1", or "10.0.0.1").

  3. When prompted, enter your router's username and password. If unchanged, defaults are often "admin/admin" or "admin/password" (these vary by manufacturer).

  4. Navigate to the appropriate section (often "Wireless Settings" or a similar category) to find your Wi‑Fi password. The exact location varies by router brand and model.

Method 3: Retrieve Wi-Fi Password from Router's Label

Many routers have a sticker on the bottom or back displaying the default Wi‑Fi network name (SSID) and password. If you haven't changed your password since purchase, the default should still be listed on the sticker.

Tips on Wi-Fi Password

  • If you reset your router to its factory settings (often done by pressing a reset button on the router for a certain duration), any custom configurations, including your Wi-Fi name and password, will be lost.

  • If you're unable to retrieve your router's password using the above methods, you might need to contact the manufacturer or your ISP for assistance.
