The WiiM Mini is a compact device designed to stream high-quality audio from various sources to your audio system. This tutorial will walk you through the step-by-step setup guide to get your WiiM Mini up and running.
What You'll Need
- A WiiM Mini device
- An external audio system, such as active speakers, a DAC, an amplifier, depending on your specific setup and preferences.
For example, if you want to stream music from the WiiM Mini to your passive speakers, you will need an amplifier to power them. - A smartphone or tablet
- Wi-Fi connection
- (Optional) Ethernet connection
- (Optional) Other audio input devices you want to connect to the WiiM Mini
Step-by-Step Setup Guide
1. Unbox the WiiM Mini
Open the box, and you'll find the following items inside.
2. Connect the Audio Output of the WiiM Mini
The WiiM Mini features the AUX Out and Optical Out ports, allowing you to output audio to various external devices. You can use any of these ports depending on your setup and preference.
AUX Out
The AUX Out port is typically used to connect to external audio equipment, e.g., powered speakers, amplifiers, or AV receivers to output high-quality analog audio playback.
Optical Out
The Optical Out port is typically used to connect to external audio equipment, e.g., soundbars, DACs, or AV receivers, to output digital audio playback.
3. Connect the Audio Input of the WiiM Mini (Optional)

4. Power on the Devices
- Connect the WiiM Mini to a power source using the provided power cable.
- Connect your external audio devices to a power source and power them on.
5. Download the WiiM Home App
Use your smartphone or tablet to scan the following QR code to download the WiiM Home app. The app will be used to set up and control your WiiM Mini.
6. Set Up the WiiM Mini
You can set up your WiiM Mini through the WiiM Home app. If you’re using an iOS device, you can also complete the setup using Apple’s Wireless Accessory Configuration (WAC) protocol or the Apple Home app.
Method 1: Using the WiiM Home App
- Open the WiiM Home app on your smartphone or tablet.
- When your device appears in the app, tap Set Up to start the process.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process. During setup, you'll connect the WiiM Mini to the Wi-Fi network, check for firmware updates, and pair the WiiM Voice Remote.

Method 2: Using Apple WAC
- Open the Settings app on your iOS device.
- Tap the WLAN option.
- Select your WiiM Mini under the SET UP NEW AIRPLAY SPEAKER section.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
After setup with Apple WAC, you can use the WiiM Home app to configure your WiiM device further, including OTA updates, Room Correction, and more.
Method 3: Using the Apple Home App
- Open the Home app on your iOS device.
- Tap the + icon in the top-right corner of the screen. A new menu will pop up.
- Select the Add or Scan Accessory option from the menu.
- Select More options... in orange.
- Choose your WiiM Mini from the list.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
After setup with Apple Home, you can use the WiiM Home app to configure your WiiM device further, including OTA updates, Room Correction, and more.
7. Play Music
Now, stream music to the WiiM Mini from the WiiM Home app or your favorite services — Spotify, Amazon Music, TIDAL, Deezer, Qobuz, and more. Or simply play from a connected audio input device. Enjoy your music with breathtaking clarity, depth, and power.
Tips
- Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure your Wi-Fi signal is strong in the location where you set up the WiiM Mini for a stable streaming experience.
- Ethernet Connection (Optional): For added stability, you can connect the WiiM Mini to your network with an Ethernet cable instead of Wi-Fi.
