NICE is a leading smart home automation platform that controls entertainment, lighting, climate control, and more through touch panels, remotes, and mobile apps. By integrating WiiM devices with NICE, you can add high-quality music streaming to your system and control playback, volume, and device groups directly from NICE interfaces. 


This guide explains how to integrate WiiM devices into a NICE control system and control playback.

How to Add WiiM Devices to NICE


Before You Begin


  • Ensure you have a NICE control system with a compatible controller.
     
  • Ensure you install the latest version of the NICE Management Cloud software on your computer.
     
  • Ensure your WiiM device is set up via the WiiM Home app.
     
  • Ensure your WiiM device and the computer running NICE Management Cloud are connected to the same network.
     
  • Verify that your WiiM device is running the latest firmware to ensure compatibility with the NICE  system.


Step-by-Step Guide

 

  1. Launch NICE Management Cloud on your computer.
     
  2. Click MARKETPLACE on the left sidebar, then search for the WiiM driver.
      
  3. Select the WiiM driver (WiiM by Linkplay), then click the Free button to download it.  
  4. Once downloaded, select LOCATIONS on the left sidebar, then click Configurator v2 on the right side to launch it.
      
  5. In the Nice Configurator window, select Media from the left sidebar. Right-click Communication Devices, then choose Add new Communication Device from the menu.
      
  6. In the pop-up window, click Import to find the downloaded WiiM driver.
     
  7. Select the downloaded WiiM driver and click Install to complete installation.
      
  8. After installation, your WiiM devices will be automatically discovered and added to the system.

Playback Control


Once your WiiM device is successfully added to the NICE system, start playing music on it. Then, open the NICE app on your mobile device and go to Now Playing for playback control.


Here, you can:

  • Play/Pause, skip to the next or previous track.
     
  • Change shuffle and repeat modes.
     
  • Adjust the volume.
     
  • Access your favorites and playlists.

Settings


Tap the icon in the top-right corner of the Now Playing screen to access the Settings page. Here, you can group/up-group WiiM devices and manage mode switching.


Grouping WiiM Devices


  1. Select the Grouping tab in Settings.
     
  2. Add available WiiM device(s) to the group.
     
  3. Tap Group in the bottom-right corner to save changes.


Un-Grouping WiiM Devices


  1. Select the Grouping tab in Settings.
     
  2. Delete WiiM device(s) from the group.
     
  3. Tap Group in the bottom-right corner to save changes.


Mode Switching


  1. Select the Mode Switching tab in Settings.
     
  2. Adjust audio input and audio output based on your setup and preference.

Tips for Smooth Integration


  • Ensure your network is stable, as both NICE and WiiM devices rely on network performance.
     
  • Regularly check for updates for both the NICE system and WiiM devices to maintain compatibility.
