RTI (Remote Technologies Incorporated) is a professional automation platform for controlling entertainment, lighting, climate, and more through processors, touch panels, remotes, and mobile apps. Integrating WiiM devices with RTI adds high-quality music streaming to your system, allowing you to control playback, volume, and device groups directly from your RTI interfaces.
This guide explains how to integrate WiiM devices into an RTI control system and control its playback.
How to Add WiiM Devices to RTI
Before You Begin
Ensure you have an RTI control system with a compatible RTI controller.
- Ensure you install Integration Designer version 11.8.1 or later on your computer.
- Ensure your WiiM device is set up via the WiiM Home app.
- Ensure your WiiM device and the computer running Integration Designer are connected to the same network.
- Verify that your WiiM device is running the latest firmware to ensure compatibility with the RTI system.
- Find and record your WiiM device’s MAC address in the WiiM Home app under Device Settings > Device Info. You’ll need it for the integration steps below.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Launch Integration Designer on your computer.
- In the left sidebar, right-click the blank area, and select Add New.
- In the pop-up dialog box, complete the following actions:
- Click the Rooms tab and create a room.
- Click the Controllers tab and select the correct model of your RTI controller.
- Click the Drivers tab and install the WiiM driver. - Enter your WiiM device‘s MAC address. You can find it in the WiiM Home app under Device Settings > Device Info.
Note: Make sure to input the MAC address in uppercase format.
- Click the Send System option
on the menu bar to send the configuration to the RTI system.
- Once completed, your WiiM device is added to the RTI system.
Playback Controls
Once your WiiM device is successfully added to the RTI system, start playing music on it. Then, open the RTI app on your mobile device and go to Now Playing.
Here, you can control playback, including:
- Play/Pause, skip to the next or previous track.
- Adjust the volume.
- Change shuffle and repeat modes.
- Access your favorites and playlists
Group and Un-group
If you have multiple WiiM devices in RTI, you can group them for synchronized playback or ungroup them at any time.
Group
To group WiiM devices, follow these steps:
- Tap the
icon on the Now Playing screen and switch to the WiiM - Grouping screen.
- Select a zone group and group members.
- Tap Save Group to complete.
Un-Group
To ungroup WiiM devices, follow these steps:
Uncheck the devices you want to remove from the group.
Tap Save Group to complete.
Tips for Smooth Integration
- Ensure your network is stable, as both RTI and WiiM devices rely on network performance.
- Regularly check for updates for both the RTI system and WiiM devices to maintain compatibility.
