WiiM now supports Room Correction using MMM (Moving Microphone Measurement) — an advanced calibration method that measures sound throughout the listening environment, resulting in more balanced and consistent audio performance.
This tutorial will introduce the MMM calibration method and guide you through how to use it within the WiiM Home app.
What is MMM?
MMM is a room measurement technique used to capture how sound behaves across the entire listening area. Unlike traditional static microphone methods that measure a single point, MMM involves slowly moving the measurement microphone around the listening area while a test signal plays through your speakers. This approach captures a more averaged and realistic representation of the room's acoustics, leading to better correction results.
Benefits of Room Correction with MMM
More accurate room analysis
Unlike single-point measurement, MMM collects data across the entire listening area, giving a more complete picture of your room’s acoustics.Optimized for multiple listeners
Sound is optimized not just for one "sweet spot", but for everyone in the room—ideal for shared or open seating areas.Minimizes the impact of room imperfections
By averaging across positions, MMM reduces the influence of reflections, standing waves, and furniture placement that typically distort sound.
How to Use Room Correction with MMM
Follow these steps to use Room Correction with MMM:
