Issue 1: Unexpected USB Disconnection
Issue Description
When the USB drive unexpectedly disconnects, the following error message will appear in the WiiM Home app. This issue is typically caused by poor contact between the USB port and the USB drive.
Solution
- Unplug the USB drive from the WiiM device.
- Check the WiiM device's USB port for dust or debris. Clean it gently if necessary.
- Plug the USB drive securely back into the USB port and proceed.
Issue 2: Not Enough USB Storage
Issue Description
When the USB drive does not have enough space to save the index data, the following error message will pop up in the WiiM Home app.
Solution
- Free up some space on the USB drive, ensuring at least 5% of its total storage capacity is available.
- Reconnect the USB drive to your WiiM device and perform a rescan.
Issue 3: Music File Index Error
Issue Description
When the music index on the USB drive is corrupted, for instance, due to file system errors, incomplete indexing, or other issues with the USB drive, the following error message will appear in the WiiM Home app.
Solution
- Tap Rescan in the pop-up error message to rescan the USB drive.
- If rescanning doesn't solve the problem, delete the wiim_cache folder from the USB drive, plug the USB drive, and perform a rescan again.
Issue 4: USB Disk Error
Issue Description
When a USB disk error occurs, preventing the scanning process from proceeding, the following error message will pop up in the WiiM Home app.
Solution
- Plug the USB drive to a computer and ensure it is formatted in a compatible format (FAT32, exFAT, NTFS, or EXT4).
- Use a disk repair tool on your computer to check and repair any potential errors on the USB drive.
- After ensuring the USB drive is properly formatted and repaired, reconnect it to the WiiM device and perform a scan again.
Issue 5: Abnormal Scan Termination
Issue Description
When the scan process is terminated abnormally, the following error message will pop up in the WiiM Home app.
Solution
- Tap Send Feedback in the pop-up error message to report the issue to the support team for further analysis.
Issue 6: Insufficient Power
Issue Description
When the WiiM device is unable to provide sufficient power to the connected USB device, the following error message will pop up.
Solution
- Check the power supply of your WiiM device and ensure you are using the provided power cable.
- If the connected USB device (e.g., an External Hard Disk Drive) requires more power than the WiiM device's USB port can supply, connect the USB device to an external power source.
