This tutorial will guide you through the process of integrating your WiiM device with Control4.


Control4 is a leading automation system that brings seamless control of WiiM devices and other smart home gadgets into one unified interface. By integrating your WiiM devices with Control4, you can centralize the management of multi-room audio and automate scenarios such as adjusting audio, lighting, and temperature when you arrive home. How to Add WiiM Devices to Control4


Before You Begin


  • Ensure you have the following:
    • A compatible WiiM device
    • Control4 system
    • Control4 Composer software (Professional version recommended)
  • Ensure that your WiiM device is fully set up .
     
  • Verify that your WiiM device is running the latest firmware to ensure compatibility with Control4.


Step-by-Step Guide


  1. Log in to the Control4 Composer software, which is used to integrate your WiiM devices.
     
  2. Click the Locations pane on the right and create a room for your device.
     
  3. Click the Discovered pane on the right, run a scan for new devices. Your WiiM device should appear as a network device.
     
  4. Double-click your WiiM device to assign it to the room in the Control4 system.
     
  5. Select the Connections tab on the left, drag and drop Audio End-Point 1 and Audio Volume 1 on your WiiM device listed in the bottom.

 

Now, your WiiM device is successfully added to the Control4 system.


Playback Control


Once your WiiM device is successfully added to the Control4 system, start playing music on it. Then, open the Control4 app on your mobile device and go to the room where the WiiM device is added. 

 

Here, you can control playback, including:

  • Play/Pause, skip to the next or previous track.
     

  • Adjust the volume.
     

  • Adjust shuffle and repeat mode.
     

  • Tap to group your WiiM devices. For details, see Group and Un-Group WiiM Devices.
     
  • Tap the icon to access the presets, playback queue, and adjust audio input/output settings.
     

  • Tap and then to enable shuffle and repeat mode. 


Group and Un-Group WiiM Devices


If you have multiple WiiM devices in Control4, you can group them for synchronized playback or ungroup them at any time. 


Before You Begin


If you are using the group and ungroup functions in Control4 for the first time, you must add the WiiMNetwork.c4z driver to any one room before proceeding. 


Click the Search pane on the right, search for "WiiM Network", then double-click the driver to add it to the selected room.


Group


To group WiiM devices, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the  icon.
     
  2. Select WiiM devices you want to group. 
  3. Tap DONE to complete.


Un-Group


To ungroup WiiM devices, follow these steps:

  1. Uncheck the devices you want to remove from the group.
     

  2. Tap DONE to complete.


Tips for Smooth Integration


  • Ensure your network is stable, as both Control4 and WiiM devices rely on network performance.
     
  • Regularly check for updates for both the Control4 system and WiiM devices to maintain compatibility.
