This tutorial will walk you through the steps to adjust sub output latency, ensuring perfect synchronization between your subwoofer and main speakers.
The WiiM Amp, WiiM Amp Pro, and WiiM Ultra feature subwoofer outputs, allowing you to connect both your main speakers and subwoofer. To optimize your audio experience, ensure that your subwoofer is perfectly synchronized with your main speakers.
Understanding Subwoofer Delay
If your subwoofer performs digital signal processing (DSP), it most likely imposes a delay. Unfortunately, this delay cannot be reduced. To compensate, you can add a delay to the main speakers using the WiiM Home App.
If your subwoofer does not impose a noticeable delay but is placed farther from your main listening position than your main speakers, you should apply a delay value for the subwoofer.
Adjust Sub Output Latency
There are two options to adjust sub output latency.
Option 1: Automatically Adjust Sub Ouput Latency
Follow these steps:
- Open the WiiM Home App.
- Go to the Device tab, and select the gear setting iconfor your WiiM device.
- Navigate to Subwoofer > Subwoofer & Speaker Sync.
- Click the Start Automatic Sync button.
- Click the Start Measurement button to measure the delay between your subwoofer and main speakers. The measuring process will take a few seconds.
- After the measurement is completed, click the Done button to finish the process.
If you want to adjust sub ouput latency further after the automatic adjustment, you can manually adjust it by following the steps in Option 2: Manually Adjust Sub Ouput Latency below.
Option 2: Manually Adjust Sub Ouput Latency
If further adjustments are needed, you can manually adjust the settings:
- Open the WiiM Home App.
- Go to the Device tab, and select the gear setting iconfor your WiiM device.
- Navigate to Subwoofer > Subwoofer & Speaker Sync.
