The built-in microphone on the WiiM device is used to automatically measure audio path latency when the device is connected to a receiver or speakers.
The built-in microphone is used only during the Auto Sync process in the WiiM Home app.
The measured latency is used to calibrate audio synchronization across various multi-room ecosystems, ensuring perfect timing when playing music in a group with compatible devices:
- Linkplay Multi-Room: For playback with other WiiM devices.
- Alexa Multi-Room: For playback with Amazon Echo devices and other compatible devices.
- AirPlay Multi-Room: For playback with Apple HomePod and other AirPlay speakers.
- Google Home Multi-Room: For playback with Google Nest and other Google Cast-enabled speakers.
- Roon Multi-Room: For playback with Roon Ready devices.
- LMS Multi-Room: For playback with Squeezelite devices.
