An AirPlay code is a security feature that restricts AirPlay access to your WiiM device, ensuring only authorized users can stream content to it. This means not everyone on your network can send content via AirPlay—only those with the correct code can access your device. This tutorial will guide you how to add or remove an AirPlay code for your WiiM device in the Home app.
How to Add an AirPlay Code
Before You Begin
- Make sure to add your WiiM device to the Home app as an accessory. For detailed instructions, see How to Add a WiiM Device to the Apple Home App as an Accessory.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Open the Home app on your mobile device.
- Tap the
icon in the top-right corner, then select Home Settings.
- Select Speakers & TV.
- Choose either Everyone or Anyone On the Same Network.
- Toggle on Require Password. A password is automatically generated. You can use this or set a password yourself.
Now, if someone on the same network uses a different mobile device to stream music via AirPlay to your WiiM device, they will be prompted to enter the AirPlay code (password).
How to Remove an AirPlay Code
If you want everyone on your network to stream audio to your WiiM device without restrictions, you can remove the AirPlay code. Simply open the Home app and toggle off Require Password.
By following this tutorial, you can easily add or remove an AirPlay code to control the AirPlay access of your WiiM device.
