Overview

Different audio inputs often represent entirely different listening experiences. For example:

  • HDMI ARC is typically for a home theater setup.
  • Wi-Fi is for high-fidelity network streaming.
  • Phono In is often used for vinyl listening.

To help you seamlessly transition between these listening scenarios, WiiM offers the Input Scene feature. It lets you customize a set of playback settings, such as playback device(s), volume, and subwoofer output, for each input. When you switch to an input, your WiiM device automatically applies the settings for that input.

Note: Input Scene is currently available only on WiiM Ultra.

Configure an Input Scene

Path: Browse > Source Inputs > Customize > [Input Source] > Input Scene

Steps:

  1. Open the WiiM Home app.
  2. Navigate to the Browse tab.
  3. Tap Customize next to Source Inputs to enter the management page. Source Inputs management page and Customize button in the WiiM Home app
  4. Tap the three dots (...) next to the source input you wish to configure, for example, HDMI ARC. Select three dots next to the desired input source, such as HDMI ARC
  5. Select Input Scene. Select Input Scene option from the menu
  6. In the Edit Input Scene screen, customize the following: Configure Input Scene options including play on, set custom volume, and subwoofer output
    • Enabled: Toggle to activate the Input Scene settings for this input.
    • Name: Give the scene a descriptive name.
    • Play On: Choose where the audio will play: on the current device, the current group, or a persistent group that includes the current device.
    • Set Custom Volume: Turn this on to apply a specific volume when you switch to the input. When it is off, the current volume remains unchanged.
    • Sub Output: Enable or disable the subwoofer output to match your preference or setup.
  7. Tap Save in the top-right corner to complete the configuration.

Use Input Scene

Once an Input Scene is configured for an input, it is applied automatically whenever you switch to that input. For example, if subwoofer output is enabled for HDMI ARC, the connected subwoofer will start playing when you switch to HDMI ARC. 

This works whether you switch inputs using the WiiM Home app, the WiiM Voice Remote, or the built-in screen on supported devices.
