This tutorial will guide you through using the Replay Gain feature for TIDAL, Plex, and Qobuz via the WiiM Home App.


The Replay Gain feature normalizes playback volume across your music tracks, ensuring consistent levels and providing a smoother listening experience. It eliminates the need to constantly adjust the volume when switching between songs or albums.


Follow the steps below to enable the Replay Gain feature and enjoy a normalized and consistent audio experience across TIDAL, Plex, and Qobuz.


Use Replay Gain for TIDAL


  1. Open the WiiM Home App.

  2. Go to the Browse tab.

  3. Open TIDAL under Music Services, and sign in to your TIDAL account.

  4. Navigate to the Account > Replay Gain setting.

  5. Choose a Replay Gain setting:
    Track Gain: Normalizes each track's volume to ensure consistent playback levels, ideal for playlists or shuffle mode.
    - Album Gain: Normalizes an album's volume while keeping track differences, ideal for full album listening.

  6. Select a music track to play again with the Replay Gain setting applied.


Use Replay Gain for Plex


  1. Open the WiiM Home App.

  2. Go to the Browse tab.

  3. Open Plex under Music Services, and sign in to your Plex account.

  4. Tap the Settings iconin the top-right corner.
  5. Toggle Loundness Leveling to On. This setting normalizes each track's volume to ensure consistent playback levels, ideal for playlists or shuffle mode.

  6. Select a music track to play again with the Replay Gain setting applied. 


To use the Replay Gain feature for Plex, ensure you also enable the Analyze audio tracks for loudness setting on Plex Media Server, as Plex relies on Plex Media Server to compute loudness data for the Replay Gain feature.


Use Replay Gain for Qobuz


  1. Open the WiiM Home App.

  2. Go to the Browse tab.

  3. Open Qobuz under Music Services, and sign in to your Qobuz account.

  4. Tap the More iconin the top-left corner, then select Settings.

  5. Tap Replay Gain, then choose the Track Gain setting. This setting normalizes each track's volume to ensure consistent playback levels, ideal for playlists or shuffle mode
    NoteQobuz does not support the Album Gain setting.

  6.  Select a music track to play again with the Replay Gain setting applied.


Tips for Replay Gain


  • Each time you change the Replay Gain setting, you need to select a playlist or album again to apply the new setting. The new setting won't apply to your current playback automatically.
